New to Darkeden Oldschool? These steps take you from nothing to your first hunt.
1. Create an account
Make your account on this website. The ID and password you choose are the ones you type in the game. Adding an e-mail address is optional, but it is the only way to reset a forgotten password yourself. Create account
2. Download and install
Get the English or Chinese edition from the download page and install it. Windows may warn that the file is not signed: click "More info", then "Run anyway". Download
3. Start the launcher
Always start the game with the launcher. It updates the game by itself; wait until both bars are full, then press START. You never download patches by hand.
4. Choose your side
- Slayer: humans who hunt vampires. A Slayer grows by use: blade, sword, gun, enchant and heal each rise as you fight with them.
- Vampire: grows by level. Every level gives bonus points to place in strength, dexterity and intelligence as you choose.
You can have both on one account. The two sides cannot trade or talk with each other in the game.
5. Your first quest
Talk to the quest giver of your side: Chris in the Knight Guild for Slayers, Capatini in Limbo Castle for Vampires. Take a hunting quest for your level, hunt the monsters, and go back for your reward points. Spend them in the reward shop on this website. Quests · Reward shop
